The number of subscribers of Reliance Jio is continuously decreasing. In December 2021, 1.29 crore customers left and now in January 2022 too, Jio has suffered a huge loss.
According to a new report by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), about nine lakh people have said goodbye to Jio in January 2022.
According to the new TRAI report, Jio had 364.34 million (36.434 crore) active customers as of 31 December 2021, which has increased to 368.53 million (36.853 crore) as of 31 January 2022. As a result, the number of active customers of the company has increased.
Jio is at a loss when it comes to leaving with customers. Jio’s total number of subscribers is now 406.39 million (40.639 crore) as against 415.72 million (41.572 crore) in December 2021. In such a situation, Jio has lost about 9.3 million (93 lakh) customers.
Apart from Jio, Vodafone Idea and BSNL have also suffered losses in January 2022. According to the TRAI report, only Airtel has benefited in the month of January. During this period, 3,77,520 customers of BSNL have decreased, while Vodafone has lost 3,89,082 customers.
Airtel has added 7,14,199 new customers in January 2022. 9.53 million (95.3) lakh mobile number portability requests have been received during this period.
Now overall, there may have been a loss in the case of Jio’s customers, but these were the customers from whom Jio was not benefiting i.e. these customers were not active. In such a situation, there is no impact on Jio’s profits, because it is increasing the number of active customers.
