CM assured to deliver the dead body to the relatives:
Karnataka Chief Minister’s Office said that Naveen Shekharappa, a student of Haveri district, died in Ukraine. CM Bommai spoke to the father of the deceased Naveen and consoled him. Every effort will be made to bring Naveen’s body back to India.
The CM said that talks are being held with the officials of the Ministry of External Affairs in this matter. The Karnataka Disaster Management Department has confirmed that Naveen had gone out to collect food items.
He died in an airstrike during this time. According to reports, an administrative building on Kharkiv’s Central Square was attacked by Russia. Naveen died after coming under the grip of this attack.
Demand for safe evacuation of Indian citizens-
On the death of an Indian student in Ukraine, Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi tweeted that we express our deepest condolences to the family. The Ministry of External Affairs is in touch with the family of the deceased student.
At the same time, he said that the Indian Foreign Secretary has again reiterated the demand of the Ambassador of Russia and Ukraine for immediate safe evacuation for Indian citizens. He said that some similar action is also being taken by our ambassadors in Russia and Ukraine.
Indians advised to leave Kyiv immediately-
Earlier on Tuesday, the Indian Embassy appealed to all its citizens to leave Kyiv immediately. The Indian Embassy in Ukraine issued an advisory saying that all Indian citizens and students are advised to leave Kyiv immediately today.
