Kavita Chawla, 45, who hails from Kolhapur has proved that those who try never give up by winning one crore money in ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 14’. When Kaun Banega Crorepati was started in the year 2000.
Since then Kavita Chawla wanted to participate in this show and today after 21 years and 10 months she got a chance to sit on the hot seat in front of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
Can’t believe that won one crore:
Kavita Chawla says, “Being a housewife and taking care of family responsibilities, I had a small dream to join Kaun Banega Crorepati and become a millionaire. This dream turned into reality for me when Bachchan sahib announced in a loud voice that I had won one crore rupees.
It was a moment that was enough to give me goosebumps. I was patient with myself but it was difficult to calm myself. A big ambition of my life had been fulfilled and I finally became a part of history.
failed four times:
When Kaun Banega Crorepati started in the year 2000. Since then Kavita Chawla has been trying to participate in it. She says, “I was trying for every season for Kaun Banega Crorepati. I got a call for the first time in the year 2012 and three questions were asked on the phone, but I could not answer the panic.
It was the first time, nothing made sense. But I kept trying, after five years I got a second chance, in which numerical question was asked and could not answer. Reached the second ladder in the year 2020.
When it was time for Covid, auditions were held online, but the call for interview did not come. In 2021, she grew up to three steps and reached the fastest finger, but could not reach the hot seat. Tried again in 2022 and reached here.
I will spend money on my son’s education:
Kavita Chawla wanted to read a lot, but she could not read much. The poem says, ‘In my time, girls did not want to read much, but I wanted to read. My father did not want to teach after 10th standard. He wanted to marry me.
But on the request of the teachers, taught for two years and I was able to study till 12th standard. With this winning amount, I want to fulfill my dream of sending my son abroad for studies, so that he can fulfill his dreams. I am grateful to the platform of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ which has played a vital role in making so many dreams come true.
Mother took care of sewing
Kavita Chawla’s father Gurbaksh Nirankari had a slipper shop in Kolhapur. If the shop did not work there, he shifted to Konkan village and opened a shop there. Kavita Chawla says, ‘Daddy was taking time to set up the business.
So, my mother Pramila Nirankari took up sewing and raised two brothers and two sisters. Got married in the year 1999 and then came to Kolhapur. After two years of marriage, my son Vivek was born. I could not read but I want my son to teach as much as he wants.
self-education by teaching son:
Kavita Chawla’s husband has a clothes shop in Kolhapur. After marriage, Kavita got busy with household chores. But his dream was to win ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ one day. She says no one knows about the future. But I had so much faith in my mind that one day I will definitely participate in ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’.
For this, I started preparing at my level. I used to help my son with his homework, taught him at home from KG to VIII. He was not sent anywhere for tuition. I myself used to study while teaching him. Along with teaching my son, my desire to study also started getting fulfilled. The knowledge gained at that time came in handy on the stage of Kaun Banega Crorepati today.
The next stage of the game is yet to come:
By answering the 16th question of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, Kavita has become the first crorepati of season 14 by winning Rs 1 crore. But the game isn’t over yet. The next leg of the game is yet to be played, which will be played on Tuesday.
Question 17 is yet to be answered. If this answer is correct then she will win an amount of Rs 7.5 crore. Kavita Chawla says, ‘If 7.5 crores wins, then many of my dreams will be fulfilled.
Son is going to UK for further studies. The loan taken for his studies will be completed. Will have a big house and will travel all over India. I love Meghalaya very much.
