The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court has convicted mafia Mukhtar Ansari in a criminal case of Alambagh police station in the capital Lucknow. The court sentenced him to two years’ imprisonment.
The decision was passed by a single bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh while allowing the appeal of the state government. In the case in the year 2003, the then jailer SK Awasthi had lodged an FIR against Mukhtar in the police station Alambagh.
According to which, people who had come to meet Mukhtar Ansari in jail were ordered to be searched, they were threatened with death.
Simultaneously, while abusing him, Mukhtar had also pointed a pistol at him. In this case, the trial court had acquitted Mukhtar, against whom the government had filed an appeal.
