Russian President Vladimir Putin today ordered military mobilization in the country amid the Ukraine war. He alleged that Western countries are plotting to destroy and weaken Russia. These countries have crossed the limit. Along with this, Putin also warned Western countries.
Russian news agency RT quoted Putin as saying this. According to RT, Putin has said that Western countries are calling for the dismantling of Russia, but are taking this step to secure the future of his compatriots.
Our goal of the special military operation ‘Ukraine War’ remains unchanged. Putin said that Ukraine’s Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) has been liberated and the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) has also been partially liberated.
Putin’s warning to Western countries:
At the same time, Putin warned Western countries that Russia would use all available means if territorial integrity was threatened. This should not be taken as a hoax. Putin has signed the order for the military barricade of his country and it will come into force from today. Russia’s defense minister said that 300,000 reserve troops would be deployed in the country.
Donetsk and Luhansk will become part of Russia, voting from Friday:
Meanwhile, two Ukrainian cities, Donetsk and Luhansk, will be made part of Russia. Voting for this will be held from Friday. Before waging war in February, Putin had announced the recognition of these two cities of Ukraine as independent regions.
In Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and partly Russian-held Zaporizhzhya region, referendums will be held from Friday. This announcement has been made after his close ally Russian President Vladimir Putin told the need for it.
What is the situation in Donetsk and Luhansk:
Donetsk, bordering Russia in eastern Ukraine, was once counted as Ukraine’s largest industrial region. It is the main city of the Donbass state, where there are deposits of many important minerals. The city is one of the major steel producing centers of Ukraine. The population here is about 20 lakhs.
At the same time, Luhansk, formerly known as Voroshilovgrad, is an important coal reserve for Ukraine. The city is also part of the Donbass region and shares a border with Russia. The northern part of this city is bordered by the Black Sea.
Why there is tension between Russia and Ukraine regarding this area:
Donetsk and Luhansk, part of Ukraine’s Donbass province, have been the main source of tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
In fact, the Donbass region became part of Ukraine after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Russia, on the other hand, maintains that the majority of the Donbass speak Russian and therefore must be protected from Ukrainian nationalism.
