The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is contemplating to field two new teams in the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The decision to play 10 teams in the IPL was made in the year 2020 itself, but due to the corona virus epidemic, the BCCI had to pull it out. This was the reason that BCCI considered it necessary in IPL 2021 with the same 8 teams, which teams played in the 2019 IPL.
BCCI is soon going to give entry to two new teams in IPL. According to the Cricbuzz report, 10 teams can be seen in the 2022 IPL. However, those buying a franchise may have to pay a hefty amount. BCCI has made up its mind to announce a hefty base price to give entry to new teams in the IPL. According to the report, to field a new team in the IPL, the franchise will have to start bidding at least 1850 crores.
Let us tell you, 8 teams are playing in IPL for a long time, but BCCI has now decided to expand IPL, which will include two more teams and thus the number of matches will also increase. Two other cities will also get to host the tournament. In this way, this most popular league in the world will become even more interesting. Along with this, many people will also get work, who are associated with these sports.
Currently, teams from Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad are playing in IPL. It is believed that a team from Gujarat can get IPL, while a team based in Pune can also enter IPL. However, a long process is yet to go on to connect the teams.
