Both India and Pakistan reached the semi-finals of Under 19 Asia Cup 2021. In Group A, these two teams finished second and first in the points table. Pakistan won three matches and got 6 points while India got four points in 2 matches.
Opener Harnoor Singh (65) helped Indian Under-19 team beat Afghanistan Under-19 team by four wickets in Group A match of Asia Cup. With this win, the Indian team reached the semi-finals. India won 2 of the three league matches and finished second with 4 points and reached the semi-finals.
India won the toss and invited Afghanistan to bat first. Afghanistan scored 259 for four in 50 overs with the help of Ijaz Ahmed Ahmedzai’s unbeaten 86 and captain Suliman Saifi’s 73. Chasing the target, the Indian team won the match by scoring 262 runs for six wickets in 48.2 overs with the help of half-century innings from Harnoor.
Apart from Harnoor, Raj Bawa remained unbeaten on 43 runs and Kaushal Tambe scored 35 runs for India. Noor Ahmed took four wickets for Afghanistan. The Indian team is second only to Pakistan in its group with four points with two wins from three matches.
At the same time, Pakistan cricket team also made it to the semi-finals by defeating UAE by 21 runs in their last league match. Pakistan’s team scored 219 runs for 8 wickets in this match and in response, the UAE team could only score 198 runs for 9 wickets and got defeated. Pakistan won all their three league matches in Group A and reached the semi-finals by finishing at number one with 6 points.
Pakistan and India have now reached the semi-finals from Group A. Apart from India and Pakistan, there were teams from Afghanistan and UAE in this group. Afghanistan won one out of three matches while UAE did not win a single match.
