The final group match of the Under-19 Asia Cup between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka on Tuesday was canceled after two officials tested positive for COVID-19. Bangladesh finished on top of their group, due to which they will face India in the semi-finals.
The semi-final matches of the Under 19 Asia Cup being played in UAE have been decided. The team playing India and Pakistan was to be decided from the match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on Tuesday. This match was canceled due to the threat of corona infection. Now India’s team of Bangladesh and Pakistan will play against Sri Lanka in the semi-finals.

Bangladesh finished on top of their group, due to which they will face India in the semi-finals. The semi-finals will be played on Thursday. 32.4 overs had already been played in Group B’s final match when the match was called off after two officials tested positive for COVID-19.
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka had already qualified for the semi-finals and the winner and runner-up of the group were to be decided from this match. Bangladesh topped the group due to better run-rate. Sri Lanka will take on Pakistan in the second semi-final.
“The Asian Cricket Council and the Emirates Cricket Board confirm that the final Group B match of the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup has been cancelled,” the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) said.
Top two teams of the group in the semi-finals:
Teams from India and Pakistan made it to the semi-finals after finishing first two places in Group A. Along with India, the team of Pakistan, Afghanistan and the host UAE were also in this group. On the other hand, teams from Group B Bangladesh and Sri Lanka secured the first and second positions. Teams from Nepal and Kuwait were in this group.
