There has been some rain around in Sydney but the forecast for this match is pretty good. There should be no problem in getting a complete game. Sydney Sixers have won two out of the three of the games that they have played at home so far and are generally tough to beat in home conditions. The pitch at the SCG is good for batting. Over 350 runs were scored in the second match played here and 150 was chased down quite comfortably when the previous match was played here at the SCG.
Team Preview:
Sydney Sixers (SYS):
The Sydney Sixers are always tough to play against because they have such a settled and well-balanced lineup. Almost all of their batsmen have been in good form but the standout performers so far are Josh Philippe and Moises Henriques. Both of them lead the way in the number of runs scored, the number of sixes hit, and the number of fours hit for the Sixers in BBL 2021-22.
James Vince, Jordan Silk, and Daniel Hughes have all played well on different occasions.
Hayden Kerr and Sean Abbott are the leading bowlers for the Sydney Sixers at this point in the tournament with nine and eight wickets to their names respectively. We have seen Lloyd Pope get preference over Sean O’Keefe in the past few matches but that could change against Brisbane Heat as they would want to attack Chris Lynn with spin early.
Dan Christian balances out the side perfectly with capable lower-order hitting and more than useful bowling.
Likely XI: Josh Philippe, James Vince, Moises Henriques, Jordan Silk, Daniel Hughes, DT Christian, Sean Abbott, Hayden Kerr, Ben Dwarshuis, T Murphy, Lloyd Pope.

Brisbane Heat (BRH):
Brisbane Heat has struggled to get wins in BBL 2021-22 so far but we don’t think it is as bad a team as its current results suggest. In fact, there were some positive signs in the previous match that make us look at them very seriously in this match. Chris Lynn regained some form and smashed five sixes on his way to his first fifty of the season, Mark Steketee bowled very well with the new ball, and Ben Duckett continued his fantastic batting form.
In fact, we think Brisbane Heat matches up quite well against the Sydney Sixers as well. Mujeeb ur Rahman with the new ball is going to test Josh Philippe as well as Marcus Stoinis. Also, James Bazley has been striking the ball well in the lower order and has taken the most wickets for Brisbane Heat.
Heat is in a tough position and needs to play aggressively otherwise it risks falling too far behind the leaders. We would not count this team out just yet.
Likely XI: Max Bryant, Chris Lynn, Ben Duckett, Sam Heazlett, TLW Cooper, Jimmy Peirson, James Bazley, Mark Steketee, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Matt Kuhnemann, Liam Guthrie
