The T20 World Cup 2021 will be held in UAE and Oman from October 17 and will conclude on November 14. Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg has selected the Indian playing XI for this event and he wants India to take the field with this team. Hogg has not included Shikhar Dhawan in his playing XI, who batted very well in the first part of IPL 2021 and was at number one in terms of runs scored.
Brad Hogg has given the responsibility of opening to Virat Kohli along with Rohit Sharma in his playing XI. The selection of these two clearly means that there is no chance for Shikhar Dhawan in his team. At the same time, as the number three batsman, he has kept Suryakumar Yadav in his team. He has given KL Rahul a place in the team as a batsman at number four, while for number five he has selected Rishabh Pant in the team. He said on his YouTube channel that, in the Indian playing XI I will select for the T20 World Cup 2021, Kohli and Rohit will be in the team as openers.
Bragg Hogg said that, I can be a little harsh towards Shikhar Dhawan, but he needs some attacking player in the middle order and because of this he is looking at Virat Kohli as an opener. While he kept Hardik Pandya to bat at number six, he selected spin all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for number seven. He said that he would like to keep Rishabh Pant as a floater in the team because if the wicket falls in the seventh over, he will send him up so that he can dominate the spinner.
Regarding the bowler, he said that he would like to keep either Kuldeep Yadav and Chahal in the team. Although Chahal is the number one spinner of the team, it will be difficult to ignore Kuldeep Yadav if he performs well in Sri Lanka. In this team, he included Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shardul Thakur and Jasprit Bumrah as fast bowlers.
