In the five-match Test series being played between India and England, both the teams are currently tied at 1-1. Now the fourth match between the two teams will start from September 2 and for this the stormy all-rounder Chris Woakes has returned in the England Test team. According to reports, Chris Woakes has been included in the Test team ahead of the fourth Test against India. Chris Woakes was not playing Test matches for England for the last one year. He played the last Test match for England against Pakistan in Southampton in August 2020.
On the other hand, Jos Buttler, the other player of the team, is about to become a father and because of this he has also been out of the Test series. Now the news is coming out that Sam Billings has been included in the team in his place. Sam played the last ODI against Sri Lanka in Southampton this year. After this, he was not given a place in the team for the Test series against India. After the first three Tests, he has now been included in the team in place of Butler. Sam has been included in the Test team of England for the first time.
Chris Woakes is considered to be the best all-rounder, but he was running out of the Test team for the last one year. Now they have got a chance. Woakes has had a stellar Test career so far. He has so far played 38 Test matches for England in which he has scored 1321 runs and has a total of one century to his name. His best score in Test is 137 not out.
