Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) head coach Brendon McCullum will miss the upcoming season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) due to personal reasons and travel restrictions related to Corona. Defending champions TKR have appointed Imran Jan as the head coach of the team for CPL 2021. Imran, the former Trinidad and Tobago captain and former West Indies A cricketer, has been a part of the TKR setup since its inception as an assistant coach. Let us tell you that the captain of the team is Kieron Pollard. Apart from this, cricketers like Darren Bravo, Colin Munro, Ravi Rampal, Lendl Simmons, Isru Udana and Yasir Shah are present. Film star Shahrukh Khan is the owner of this franchise.
“The defending champions of the Caribbean Premier League, Trinbago Knight Riders, today announced some changes to their support staff for the CPL 2021 season,” the franchise said in a statement. Head Coach Brendon McCullum is unavailable for CPL 2021 due to personal reasons and Corona related travel restrictions. Consequently, TKR has appointed Imran Jan as the head coach for CPL 2021. In addition, former West Indies player Dinanath Ramnarine has joined the support staff as an advisor.
All 33 matches of CPL 2021 will be played at Warner Park:
Ramnarine represented West Indies in 12 Tests and four ODIs in his international career between 1997 and 2002. TKR will play their first match against Guyana Amazon Warriors on 26 August at Warner Park. All 33 matches of CPL 2021 will be played at Warner Park.
