Trinbago Knight Riders vs Barbados Royals (TKRvBR): The 4th Match of CPL 2021 will be played between these two teams TKR vs BR , The match will begin on 28 August 2021 at 04:30 AM IST.
Team winner Prediction:
Key Points:
- Both teams lost their previous match
- Barbados Royals seems to be a bit thin in the bating department and its bowling attack is not very reliable
- TKR started slowly but we believe it has the quality in its lineup to bounce back in this match
TKR vs BR Analysis:
The opening day of the CPL 2021 matches served up some exciting results and we saw the defending champions, Trinbago Knight Riders go down to the Guyana Amazon Warriors. For a team that managed to stay unbeaten the entire previous season, that was a shock start.
Now, TKR is going to take on the Barbados Royals. Like the Knight Riders, The Barbados Royals also lost their opening match of CPL 2021. There seem to be some clear weaknesses in both teams and this is what offers some good betting opportunities to take advantage of.
Match Details:

Pitch and Weather Conditions:
There is no rain expected in St. Kitts and so no interruptions are likely. The pitch, on the other hand, was quite slow and low in bounce. Spinners were difficult to score off and the big hits were rare. This is not what you want to see in the CPL but that is something that you can take advantage of in a lot of betting markets.
It appears as if scores of around 150 will be par and anything around 170 is going to be very tough to chase down.
Probably XI:
Trinbago Knight Riders:
The Trinbago Knight Riders almost seemd a bit lazy and complacent going into the previous match. Their batsmen were playing outlandish shots even when there was no need to do so and they just did not respect the conditions. As it turned out, TKR’s batting was the main reason why it lost the previous match.
Lendl Simmons getting out early turned out to be the biggest drawback for TKR who also used Sunil Narine to try and get a fast start. The fact of the matter is that the pitch at Warner Park is slow and getting runs with the new ball is very important. We are backing the likes of Lendl Simmons, Colin Munro, and Tim Seifert to have more of an impact in this match.
The bowling lineup performed well. Sunil Narine and Akeal Hossain were very difficult to score off, once again proving the slow nature of the surface. Isuru Udana did not have a good match but he is also someone who could be dangerous with his mix of cutters.
Likely XI: LMP Simmons, Colin Munro, Tim Seifert, Darren Bravo, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Isuru Udana, SP Narine, Akeal Hosein, Ravi Rampaul, Jayden Seales.

Barbados Royals:
The Barbados Royals gave up to many runs while bowling and could never really get the momentum in their chase. Mohammad Amir was decent without being brilliant while Oshane Thomas lit the match up with his pace. We don’t think he is very consistent, though, and this is why we worry about the bowling attack of the Barbados Royals in this next match as well.
Someone like Hayden Walsh needs to step up and make the most of the conditions that are helpful for the spinners.
Barbados Royals also have a weaker batting lineup than most of the other teams. Glenn Phillips, Johnson Charles, Shai Hope, Kyle Mayers, and Jason Holder do not really inspire a lot of confidence. We can see this batting lineup struggle to get the runs needed to compete in most matches.
Likely XI: Shai Hope, Azam Khan, GD Phillips, Johnson Charles, Kyle Mayers, Jason Holder, Thisara Perera, Ashley Nurse, Hayden Walsh, Mohammad Amir, Oshane Thomas.
