Australian opener David Warner has heaped praise on Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant. He has said that India’s wicket-keeper batsman is fearless and can change the pace of the game like Adam Gilchrist. Warner said that he believes that Pant should not change his game or go into defensive mode as he can win a lot of matches for India.
Left-handed middle-order batsman Rishabh Pant has been spreading color with the bat in all formats of the game over the past few months. His batting will be crucial for Team India’s winning prospects in the upcoming Test series in England. The 23-year-old from Delhi has become India’s first-choice wicketkeeper in limited overs and Test cricket, thanks to which he has built his career after repeated failures in 2019.
Australian legend David Warner while talking to Sports Today said, “My point to him (Pant) is to just keep playing the way he plays. Don’t go into defensive mode. Pant doesn’t need to change his game.” The way he comes on the field and attacks it almost puts us on the back foot. The way he plays is the same as Adam Gilchrist used to play.
David Warner also agrees with this, because India had drawn the Sydney Test match due to Pant’s innings, while the pride of Gabba was also broken by India on the basis of Rishabh Pant’s strong innings.
“He could change the pace of the game straight away and the innings he played at SCG was fantastic. That’s the fear in him and he plays the game with passion. We talk about Australia’s carefree attitude.” He goes out there, knows his game and at the end of the day if he gets out playing that way, he can still win you a lot of matches. He is a fantastic talent for the future.”
