The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is getting shocks one after the other. First the New Zealand team had canceled the tour despite reaching Pakistan and then the Pakistan Cricket Board wanted to call Sri Lanka and Bangladesh for a short series, then the PCB was disappointed from there too and now England and Wales in this episode. The Cricket Board i.e. ECB has given a big blow to the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Actually, the ECB has made it clear that England’s men’s and women’s team was to tour Pakistan in October, but now the team will not go to Pakistan in October. The press release issued by the England and Wales Cricket Board said, “The ECB has a long-standing commitment to tour Pakistan in 2022 as part of the Men’s Future Tours programme. Earlier this year, we were planning to tour Pakistan in October.” Two additional T20 matches in Pakistan were agreed to be played as T20 World Cup practice, with the men’s games as well as the women’s team making a short tour of Pakistan.
“The ECB Board has discussed the England women’s and men’s team matches for additional matches in Pakistan and we can confirm that the Board has decided to withdraw both teams from the October visit. Our players And the mental and physical well-being of the support staff remains our top priority and is even more important given the times we currently live in. We know there are growing concerns about field travel and Confident that going forward this will increase. There is further pressure on a sports group, as we are already facing a longer period of operation in a restricted COVID environment.”
