Coach Gary Stead has said, “It has been a really tough time for Kane Williamson to deal with this kind of persistent injury. However, we have been able to manage the injury in the T20 World Cup this year, in Test cricket.” Changes and increased batting load is there again. Because of this his elbow problem has increased. Everyone knows how much he loves Test cricket and his exit is a big loss for the team.”

These Indian players have been injured:

Before the Mumbai Test match, Indian team vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowler Ishant Sharma are also injured and they have also been ruled out of this Test match. Thus far, four players have had to be out in this match.
