The New Zealand Cricket Board has made it clear that Kane Williamson will not be a part of the second Test and opener Tom Latham will take over the captaincy of the team in his absence. New Zealand head coach Gary Stead has confirmed that Kane Williamson will miss the second Test due to a left elbow injury. This injury has troubled Kane Williamson a lot in 2021
Coach Gary Stead has said, “It has been a really tough time for Kane Williamson to deal with this kind of persistent injury. However, we have been able to manage the injury in the T20 World Cup this year, in Test cricket.” Changes and increased batting load is there again. Because of this his elbow problem has increased.
