Ind vs NZ 3rd T20I: The third match of the three-match T20I series was played between India and New Zealand at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. After winning the toss in this match, Rohit Sharma decided to bat first and he won the toss for the third time against Kiwi team in a row. Team India scored 184 for 7 in 20 overs on Rohit Sharma’s half-century in the first innings and gave New Zealand a target of 185 runs to win.
New Zealand’s team could not reach the target of 185 runs to win and they were defeated by 73 runs. Kiwi team was reduced to 111 runs in 17.2 overs. The Indian bowlers had a strong performance against the Kiwi team and the New Zealand batsmen looked completely helpless in front of the Indian bowlers. Although Guptill tried well by scoring a half-century, but he could not get the team to win. The Indian team played a T20 match against New Zealand for the first time at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, in which it won and with this victory, Team India also won the title by cleaning the Kiwi team in the three-match T20 series. In the second innings, India got the first breakthrough from spinner Axar Patel and he got Daryl Mitchell caught for 5. Axar Patel gave India the second breakthrough by dismissing Chapman without opening the account. If Patel also bowled Glenn Phillips without scoring any runs and this was his third wicket. Martin Guptill scored 51 runs in 36 balls with the help of 4 fours and 4 sixes and handed his catch to Suryakumar off Chahal’s ball. While Seifert got out after scoring 17 runs, Neesham lost his wicket on the ball of Harshal Patel after scoring 3 runs. Santner was run out after scoring 2 runs. Adam Milne was dismissed for 7 by Venkatesh Iyer. Ish Sodhi was dismissed for 9 off Harshal Patel’s delivery. In this match for India, Axar Patel took three wickets, Harshal Patel took two while Deepak Chahar, Chahal and Venkatesh Iyer took one wicket each.

Ishan Kishan, along with Rohit Sharma, gave India a good start and was dismissed for 29 runs by Santner. Seifert caught Kishan’s catch while Santner made Suryakumar Yadav his second victim and dismissed him without opening the account. Santner made his third victim on the score of four runs to Rishabh Pant and his catch was caught by Neesham.
Captain Rohit Sharma played a good innings of 56 runs in 31 balls and was caught by Ish Sodhi in his hands. India’s fifth wicket fell as Venkatesh Iyer and he was caught by Trent Boult for 20 runs. At the same time, Shreyas Iyer got out on the ball of Adam Milne after scoring 25 runs. Lucky Ferguson to Harshal Patel was hit wicket for 18 runs. Deepak Chahar added color to the match and scored 21 not out off 8 balls with the help of one six and two fours while Axar Patel remained unbeaten on 2 runs. For this match against New Zealand, Team India made two changes in their playing XI and rested KL Rahul and R Ashwin. In their place, Ishan Kishan and Yuzvendra Chahal were included in the team.
