Indian opener batsman Mayank Agarwal scored a century while performing brilliantly in the first innings of the Mumbai Test match against New Zealand. This was his first century in Test cricket against New Zealand while it was his fourth century in the longer format of overall cricket. Mayank Agarwal’s century came when India’s best batsman and captain Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara lost their wickets on zero, as well as batsman Shreyas Iyer, who scored a century in the Kanpur Test, could not do anything special.

Mayank Agarwal scored his first century in Test cricket against New Zealand on Indian soil. He completed his century by hitting a four off Daryl Mitchell. He completed his 100 runs facing 196 balls and during this time he hit 3 sixes and 13 fours. Mayank Agarwal had scored his first Test century in the year 2019 against South Africa in Visakhapatnam and scored 215 runs, while in the same year in Pune Test against the same team, he again scored an innings of 108 runs. At the same time, in 2019 itself, he played an innings of 243 runs against Bangladesh in Indore. After this, he went on to score a century against New Zealand. His four centuries in his Test career so far include two double centuries.
Before the Mumbai Test match, it was being speculated that maybe he would be dropped before this Test, but suddenly Ravindra Jadeja, Ishant Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane got injured and Mayank got a chance to play. Mayank took tremendous advantage of this and hit a century.
