Talking about IPL 2022, it will be played from 26 March to 29 May in Mumbai and Pune. In view of the situation of Kovid 19, only 25 percent of the spectators will be able to enter all the matches played till April 15. The matches against South Africa will start only 10 days after the end of IPL.
The decision was taken after the Apex Council meeting of BCCI on Wednesday. The series against South Africa will be played from June 9 to June 19 in Cuttack, Visakhapatnam, Delhi, Rajkot and Chennai.
Earlier these matches were to be held in Bangalore and Nagpur but later it was changed as both these venues were missed during the West Indies tour. 6 matches against West Indies were played in only two places, Ahmedabad and Kolkata. This was done to avoid excessive travel in view of Kovid.
Let us tell you that before the T20 World Cup, the Indian team has a chance to improve their team. In this context, this series against South Africa is very important. Apart from this, Rohit Sharma will have a chance to extend his winning record in T20.
