The first match of the two-match Test series being played between India and Sri Lanka was played in Mohali. Jadeja is the hero of victory, Rohit Sharma’s great start:

The hero of India’s victory in this match was Ravindra Jadeja, who first scored an unbeaten 175 and then took 5 wickets in the first innings of the match against Sri Lanka and then 4 wickets in the second innings. At the same time, this was the debut Test match of Indian captain Rohit Sharma and under his captaincy, Team India’s Test journey started unmatched. India’s first innings, Jadeja’s century:

The Indian team scored a big score of 574 runs in the first innings and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s batting was a big contribution in taking the team to this score. Jadeja scored an unbeaten 175 while playing the best innings of his Test career. In the first innings, Rishabh Pant scored 96 runs and missed a century. Hanuma Vihari scored 58 runs in the first innings for India while R Ashwin played a good innings of 61 runs. While Virat Kohli scored 45 runs, captain Rohit Sharma scored 29 runs. Mayank Agarwal also contributed 33 runs for the team while Shreyas Iyer made 27 runs.

Sri Lanka’s second innings, Niroshan Dickwella’s unbeaten half-century:

Sri Lanka got the first blow in the second innings as Thirimanne was dismissed by Ashwin. He could not even open his account, while Nisanka was dismissed as the second wicket, he played an innings of 6 runs. Nisanka was dismissed by R Ashwin. The third blow to Sri Lanka was given by Shami by dismissing captain Dimuth Karunaratne and he scored 27 runs. De Silva is out as the fourth wicket, he is dismissed by Jadeja. He played an innings of 30 runs. Charith Aslanka became the victim of Ashwin after scoring 20 runs, while Mathews was dismissed for 28 runs by Jadeja. Jadeja did not even allow Suranga Lakmal to open the account. Jadeja gave Sri Lanka the 8th blow in the form of Lasith Embuldeniya. He scored 2 runs. Mohammed Shami gave the 9th blow to Sri Lanka by dismissing Fernando. Lahiru Kumara was dismissed for four by Ashwin while Niroshan Dickwella made an unbeaten 51. In the second innings, Ashwin and Jadeja took four wickets each while Shami took two wickets for India.

Sri Lanka’s first innings, batsmen performed poorly:

The first blow to Sri Lanka came in the form of Thirimanne, who was dismissed leg before by Ashwin for 17 runs. Sri Lanka was given the second blow by Jadeja and he sent captain Karunaratne to the pavilion on the score of 28 runs. Sri Lanka lost Angelo Mathews for the third wicket and he was dismissed by Bumrah for 22 runs. Ashwin made de Silva his second victim and gave Sri Lanka the fourth blow. De Silva made just one in the first innings. Bumrah gave Sri Lanka’s fifth blow on the third day of the game. Bumrah dismissed Aslanka leg before, he scored 29 runs. Sri Lanka got the sixth blow in the form of Dickwella while the 7th in the form of Lakmal. Jadeja sent Dickwella and Lakmal to the pavilion. Shami gave the team’s 8th blow in the form of Ambuldeniya. Sri Lanka lost Fernando for the 9th wicket and Lahiru Kumara as the 10th wicket. Ravindra Jadeja took the maximum five wickets in the first innings for India, while Bumrah and Ashwin got two each and Shami got one success.

Jadeja’s five wickets-

Ravindra Jadeja once again took two wickets in the same over. He made Vishwa Fernando and Lahiru Kumara his prey in the last two balls of his 13th over. With this, Jadeja also completed his five wickets.

Day 2- Stumps:

Play has ended on the second day of the first match of the two-match Test series between India and Sri Lanka in Mohali. At the end of the game, Sri Lanka scored 108 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Pathum Nisanka 26 and Aslanka are present at the crease by scoring 1 run for Sri Lanka. They are still 466 runs behind on the basis of India’s first innings.

108 for 4 in Sri Lanka’s first innings till the end of the second day’s play-

Indian captain Rohit Sharma along with Mayank Agarwal got India off to a good start and the duo shared a 52-run partnership for the first wicket. However, this partnership was broken by Lahiru Kumara by dismissing Rohit Sharma for 29 runs. Team India lost its second wicket in the form of Mayank Agarwal, who was dismissed leg before by Lasith Embuldeniya on the score of 33 runs.

Day 1- Stumps:

The first match of the two-match Test series between India and Sri Lanka is being played in Mohali. In this match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. Hanuma Vihari played an innings of 58 runs and he was dismissed by Vishwa Fernando. India’s 5th wicket fell in the form of Shreyas Iyer, who was dismissed for 27 runs by de Silva. India got the sixth blow in the form of Rishabh Pant. Rishabh Pant became the victim of Lakmal on the score of 96.
