After winning all the matches of the three-match T20 series, India cleaned up the visiting team Sri Lanka 3-0 and captured the title. India won the last match by 6 wickets.
The last match of the three-match T20 series between India and Sri Lanka was played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. In this match, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first.
Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 146 for 5 in 20 overs on the back of captain Dasun Shanaka’s unbeaten 74 and set India a target of 147 runs. India in reply scored 148 for 4 in 16.5 overs and won the match by 6 wickets.
With this win, India also cleaned up Sri Lanka 3-0 in the three-match T20I series. Earlier, India had also made a clean sweep of West Indies 3-0 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.
India’s innings, Shreyas Iyer’s third half-century:
Indian captain Rohit Sharma again disappointed in the last match and he was caught by Karunaratne on Chamira’s ball after scoring just 5 runs. Sanju Samson, who came to open in this match with Rohit Sharma, scored 18 runs in 12 balls with the help of 3 fours and was caught by Chandimal off Karunaratne’s delivery.
Deepak Hooda was caught out after scoring 21 runs, while Shreyas Iyer scored his third consecutive half-century of this T20 series. Venkatesh Iyer returned to the pavilion after scoring 5 runs. India got the first wicket in the form of Danushka Gunathilaka and she got Mohd. Siraj clean bowled for one run. On the other hand, India got the second success by Avesh Khan and he got Pathum Nissanka caught by Venkatesh Iyer on the score of one run.
Avesh Khan, giving Sri Lanka the third blow, got Aslanka caught behind the wicket at the hands of Sanju Samson on the score of 4 runs. India’s fourth success was given by spinner Ravi Bishnoi by dismissing Zenith Lianage for 9 runs. Harshal Patel got Dinesh Chandimal caught by Venkatesh Iyer on the score of 25 runs.
Captain Shanaka scored an unbeaten 74 off 38 balls with the help of two sixes and 9 fours, while Chamika Karunaratne scored an unbeaten 12. For India, Avesh Khan took two wickets while Siraj, Harshal Patel and Ravi Bishnoi took one wicket each.
