Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has become the number one all-rounder of the Indian cricket team. Jadeja has surpassed West Indies’ Jason Holder to achieve this position in the latest ICC rankings. He performed brilliantly in the Mohali Test.
The Mohali Test against Sri Lanka may have been the 100th Test of Virat Kohli’s career but the highlight of this match was the performance of all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
Jadeja not only played a historic innings of 175 not out in this match but also took 9 wickets. He was also adjudged man of the match. Sri Lanka suffered an innings and 222 runs defeat due to Jadeja’s performance.
Now Jadeja has got the reward for his performance. In fact, Ravindra Jadeja has taken the number one position as an all-rounder in the new ICC Men’s Test Rankings. He is now at number one position with 406 points.
He has achieved this position from former West Indies captain Jason Holder who was in this position since February 2021. Now Holder has slipped to second number with 382 points.
Jadeja broke Kapil Dev’s record in the Mohali Test and became the individual highest run-scorer while batting at number 7. He had left behind the innings of 163 runs played by Kapil Dev. The last time Jadeja was ranked number one was in August 2017. He was at this number for a week.
Ravichandran Ashwin is at number three for India in the top ten. Ashwin has 347 points. He also did well with the bat and ball in the match against Sri Lanka. Ashwin played an innings of 61 runs while also taking 6 wickets. He had surpassed Kapil Dev’s record of 434 wickets in this match by taking the wicket of Sri Lankan batsman Aslanka.
