Ahead of the three-match T20I series between India and Sri Lanka, the Indian team has suffered a setback. Two important players of the team have been ruled out of the series due to injury. There is news of middle order batsman Suryakumar Yadav and bowler Deepak Chahar being out of this series.
The Indian team recently made him a clean sweep in the T20 series against West Indies. Now Team India has to enter the three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka. The first match of the series is to be played in Lucknow on Thursday, 24 February. The news of Suryakumar and Deepak Chahar getting injured before this series is worrying. Both these players are making important contributions to the T20 team.
Suryakumar, who batted brilliantly against the West Indies, has a hairline fracture in his hand due to which he will not be able to play against Sri Lanka in the next series. According to the report of Cricbuzz, Suryakumar was injured in the last match of the series played against West Indies. As of now, no statement has been made regarding the seriousness of his injury.
On the other hand, bowler Deepak Chahar looked uncomfortable on Tuesday during practice in Lucknow. He too was ruled out of the T20I series against Sri Lanka due to a hamstring injury. It is being told about his injury that he can stay away from the field for 5 to 6 weeks.
