The Indian team management wants an experienced player like Ajit Agarkar or Zaheer Khan as the bowling coach. The position is currently held by Paras Mhambrey, who has worked with Team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid at the National Cricket Academy.
The Indian team management wants a former experienced player as the bowling coach. The team management has expressed its desire in front of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). At present, this post is held by Paras Mhambrey. It is believed that the team management wants Ajit Agarkar or Zaheer Khan as the bowling coach. This will benefit Team India’s fast bowling attack.
Mhambrey, who played two Tests and three ODIs, was made the bowling coach when Rahul Dravid was appointed head coach after Ravi Shastri. Shastri’s support team did not want to extend their contract after last year’s T20 World Cup. Ajit Agarkar took around 350 international wickets in 26 Tests, 191 ODIs and four T20 Internationals. At the same time, Zaheer Khan is currently associated with the IPL franchise Mumbai Indians (MI). He has taken a total of 610 international wickets in 92 Tests, 200 ODIs and 17 T20Is.
Mhambrey has worked extensively with the junior players at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) along with Dravid before assuming the responsibility of bowling coach of Team India. Meanwhile, it is learned that Agarkar has signed a contract with Delhi Capitals (DC) as the bowling coach for the Indian Premier League 2022 (IPL 2022).
The Mumbai legend will work with Australian legend and franchise head coach Ricky Ponting. Agarkar, who currently does commentary, will play the role of coach for the first time. Playing the role of bowling coach for Delhi Capitals will make the path to becoming the coach of Team India easier.
