Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced the team of Mumbai for Ranji Trophy, whose captain is opener Prithvi Shaw. Arjun Tendulkar has also been selected in this 20-member team. Arjun Tendulkar will get a chance in first class cricket for the first time. However, the team has been announced for the first two matches only. Mumbai team has to play the second match against Maharashtra from January 13 to 16 and against Delhi in Kolkata from January 20 to 23.
Prithvi Sha will be the captain of the team in both these matches. Players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan and Shivam Dubey have also been selected in the Mumbai team. The selection committee headed by Salil Ankola has picked veteran pacer Dhawal Kulkarni to lead the bowling attack. He will be accompanied by Mohit Awasthi, left-arm spinner Shams Mulani, off-spinner Shashank Attarde and left-arm pacer Roystan Dias. The 41-time Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai have been placed in Group C of the elite nine teams and will start their campaign against Maharashtra on January 13.
