Hardik Pandya will undergo these tests under the watchful eye of NCA Director VVS Laxman and NCA Physio. Team India’s physio Nitin Patel will also be present during the test. It is necessary to pass his fitness test before IPL 2022.
Indian cricket team all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been appointed as the captain of the new IPL team Gujarat Titans. If everything goes well, he can be seen captaining this team in IPL 2022.
To say that everything is fine means that Hardik Pandya has to prove his fitness before IPL 2022 and for this he is at the National Cricket Stadium in Bangalore.
He will first prove his fitness in NCA and only then he will be allowed to play in IPL 2022. However, this time it is not going to be easy for him as NCA and BCCI have challenged him to bowl at least 10 overs first and prove his fitness.
Speaking to Inside Sports, a BCCI official said that the NCA physio and VVS Laxman will decide the fitness test schedule for Hardik Pandya.
However, the selectors of Team India have made it clear that Hardik Pandya will have to bowl at least 10 overs and pass the mandatory Yo-Yo test as per the prescribed criteria.
This test is not specially designed for Hardik Pandya and all cricketers are required to pass a fitness test. This is mandatory for centrally contracted players before IPL.
The national team and the NCA medical staff always keep a close watch on their centrally contracted players. The minimum yo-yo score for Team India players is 16.5.
However, Hardik Pandya has always averaged 18 and above in the Yo-Yo test so it shouldn’t be a problem for him. A PTI report claimed that Hardik will have to undergo these tests under the watchful eye of NCA director VVS Laxman and NCA physio. Team India’s physio Nitin Patel will also be present during the test.
