In the Tokyo Olympics 2020, six players won individual events for India, while the hockey team won medals for the country in the field event. The Cricket Board of India (BCCI) has announced a reward for the players who win medals in the biggest event of the game. While the BCCI announced a reward of Rs 1 crore to the gold medal winning javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, the Indian men’s hockey team announced a reward of Rs 1 crore 25 lakh. The Indian men’s hockey team did a wonderful job of winning the bronze medal in the Olympics after 41 years for the country in field hockey.
At the same time, Neeraj Chopra, who won the only gold medal in Tokyo Olympics for India, announced a grant of one crore rupees. Neeraj won the gold medal for the country in the javelin throw event for the first time for India. Apart from this, BCCI has announced a reward of Rs 50 each to the athletes Mirabai Chanu and Ravi Kumar Dahiya, who won silver medals in two sports. Meera Bai Chanu won silver medals in weightlifting, while Ravi Kumar Dahiya won silver medals for India in the 57 kg category in wrestling.
Apart from these, three players who won bronze medals PV Sindhu, Lovlina Borgohain and Bajrang Punia announced Rs 25 lakh each. PV Sindhu won the bronze medal in the women’s singles badminton competition, while Lovleena did this feat in boxing. Apart from this, Bajrang Punia won the bronze medal for India in the 65 kg weight category in freestyle wrestling.
