India Tour of South Africa: A big news has come out related to the selection of India’s strong all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Hardik Pandya’s selection in the team for the upcoming tour of South Africa looks doubtful. According to a report, Hardik has been asked to report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) as the selectors want him to recover and then prove his fitness at the NCA for selection.
Hardik Pandya was not available to bowl after undergoing back surgery earlier, while he suffered a shoulder injury during the T20 World Cup. Hardik Pandya was injured in his first match of the T20 World Cup 2021 against Pakistan and it was believed that his injury was minor, but the injury was quite troublesome. He was considered available for the home series against New Zealand, but was ruled out of the series due to injury.
A BCCI official told InsideSports, “His recovery from the injury will largely depend on rest. He should be visiting the NCA soon and we will decide on his inclusion in the South Africa tour based on his fitness.” The official also confirmed that at present Hardik is not fully fit and it is a matter of concern.
“At this point of time, he is not close to the fitness level required for Test cricket. He needs time and we don’t want to rush things like it happened before the World Cup. If he is ready, he will have to go for ODIs and more,” the official said. Will be sent for T20 series.” The Indian team has to play ODI, T20 and Test series on the tour of South Africa, which is an important tour.
