The International Cricket Council’s upcoming rankings have been released every week. Indian players have made tremendous gains in the T20 batting rankings. Venkatesh Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav, who rocked the recent series against West Indies, have made significant jumps in the rankings. Both the batsmen scored fiercely in the T20 series against West Indies. The unmatched partnership of 91 runs between the two in the last T20 had prepared the foundation for the team’s victory.
The ICC released its latest rankings on Wednesday. Indian all-rounder Venkatesh has jumped 203 places in the T20 batting rankings. From number 318, he has now reached the 115th position. The same Indian middle order batsman Suryakumar has improved 35 places to be at 21st position.
In the T20 series played against the West Indies, Suryakumar was first while Venkatesh was second in terms of runs scored. In the first match, India had lost four wickets early on. The team needed 65 runs off 45 balls, Yadav and Iyer gave India the lead in the series. On the other hand, India lost 4 wickets for 94 runs in the third match. Yadav shared a brilliant partnership with Venkatesh, adding 91 runs in 37 balls to reach the team’s score of 184 runs.
