Vijay Hazare Trophy Final 2021: Vijay Hazare will start as the title favorites against Himachal Pradesh in the final of the one-day cricket tournament to be held on Sunday. Himachal’s team will take the field in the exercise of their first title.
A strong Tamil Nadu side will start as title contenders against Himachal Pradesh in the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy One Day Cricket Tournament to be held on Sunday. Himachal’s team will take to the field in the exercise of their first title. The Rishi Dhawan-led side defeated Services by 77 runs in the semi-finals. Tamil Nadu, on the other hand, defeated Saurashtra by two wickets in a thrilling match that lasted till the last ball.
Tamil Nadu, which won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament earlier this season, will look to secure a second title by winning the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Tamil Nadu team has performed well in every department of the game so far. Baba Aparajit has shown a good game. Opener N Jagadeesan, who scored a century against Karnataka, will try to play a big innings by forgetting the failure of the previous match.
His batting line-up includes undefeated twin brother Baba Inderjit, who scored a half-century in the previous match, captain Vijay Shankar, veteran Dinesh Karthik, aggressive batsman Shah Rukh Khan and Washington Sundar. Washington played a brilliant innings of 70 runs in the semi-finals. Himachal’s relatively less experienced bowling attack will have to do their best to dominate these batsmen. It will not be easy for the Himachal batsmen to face the three spinners of Tamil Nadu, Sai Kishore, M Siddharth and Washington.
Captain Dhawan’s performance matters a lot for Himachal. If his team wants to win the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the first time, then Dhawan will have to do well with the bat and ball. Himachal will be happy with the form of Prashant Chopra, who played match-winning knocks in the quarter-finals and semi-finals. Chopra will try to maintain his momentum in the final as well. Himachal’s other batsmen Shubham Arora, Digvijay Rangi, Amit Kumar and Akash Vashisht, however, will also have to give their best in this crucial match.
