Matches of India’s tour of Sri Lanka are to be rescheduled following positive cases of COVID-19 for members of the Sri Lankan team.
The three-match ODI series, which was supposed to begin on July 13, is now likely to begin on July 17 or 18, with the host board wanting players to serve an extended period of quarantine for their personnel. Sri Lanka’s batting coach Grant Flower and a team analyst were recently tested positive for COVID-19 on their return from the England tour.
Sri Lanka Cricket is set to announce the revised schedule of matches to the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the broadcasters on Saturday.
As per the earlier schedule, three ODIs were to be played from July 13 to 18, followed by three T20 matches from July 21 to 25 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
