Former Indian cricketer Vinay Kumar has joined the talent scout division of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise and defending champion Mumbai Indians (MI). Recently, Team India’s former wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel was also associated with it. The 37-year-old former bowler will work closely with the Mumbai Indians management and coaching staff.
“I am delighted that Vinay has joined our talent scout programme. Mumbai Indians is founded on a strong fundamentals of grooming the youth and finding talent. I am sure Vinay will contribute to our ideology and scouting strength. In a career spanning 17 years of first-class cricket, Vinay led Karnataka to two Ranji Trophy titles and was a part of the Mumbai Indians team that won the IPL title in 2015 and 2017. Vinay announced his retirement from cricket in February 2021. The former right-arm medium pacer played 1 Test match, 31 ODIs and 9 T20Is for India.”

Let us inform that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday announced the schedule of the remaining matches of IPL 2021. A total of 31 matches will be played over a period of 27 days. The tournament had to be halted in early May due to Corona. In such a situation, the remaining matches will be played in the UAE from September 19. The first match will be between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.
