In the 55th match of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League, this batsman, who came out to open the innings against Sunrisers Hyderabad, scored fifty runs in just 16 balls. This is the fastest fifty by any batsman made by Mumbai Indians.

In 2014, Yusuf Pathan scored a half-century in 15 balls against Hyderabad. With this innings, Ishan has moved up to joint third position along with Sunil Narine and Suresh Raina.
