MI vs PBKS Analysis:
Mumbai Indians are second from the bottom in the IPL 2021 standings and it is not a place where you expect to be one of the most successful T20 teams of all time. Mumbai Indians have lost all their three matches in the second half of IPL 2021 and are now in a winning position.
They are going to take on Punjab Kings, another team that is struggling but one that has won their last match. It has also lost two of its last three matches since the restart.

Pitch and Weather Conditions:
The conditions in the previous match wre pretty good for batting and we are hoping for the same thing this time around. The ball came onto the bat a lot better and players were able to play through the line. Even if the pitch does slow up a little, a score of around 150-160 should be very much on the cards.
Team Preview:
MI vs PBKS- Head to Head:
Mumbai Indians | Head to Head | Punjab Kings |
---|---|---|
14 won | 27 Matches | 13 won |
87 runs | Lowest Score | 119 runs |
223 runs | Highest Score | 220 runs |
Mumbai Indians (MI):
Mumbai Indians had to face a complete defeat in the previous match against RCB. They were all out for 57 for no loss in the powerplay on 111. Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock were the only ones to start as the rest of the batsmen failed to reach double digits.
The lack of form is a big concern for Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya. Also, after being out of the team for so long, there has been a war in Hardik Pandya.
The question here as bettors is, where do you believe in continuing your poor form with the team or the bank? We think the change in Abu Dhabi is probably the one that can help Mumbai Indians. The last match played there was a high scoring affair between KKR and CSK.
Mumbai Indians have a strong base of players and we don’t think they are going to make any major changes in the batting order right now. Mumbai Indians’ bowling effort was better in the previous match.
Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah were brilliant at the time of death. Adam Milne has also been very good. The performances of spinners Rahul Chahar and Kunal Pandya have also not been special.
Likely XI: Rohit Sharma (captain), Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Adam Milne, Rahul Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult.

Punjab Kings (PBKS):
The Punjab Kings have played three matches so far and two of them have been very close affairs. The first one was the match that they lost from a winning position and the most recent one was one that they won from a losing position.
PBKS ahs made some bold choices when it comes to selection and we think it is on the right pathh now. Having Ravi Bishnoi in the team is an excellent option, Chris Gayle adds strength to the batting, and Nathan Ellis can bowl well in the death overs.
There is no doubt, though, that the Punjab Kings are struggling with their batting right now. Mayank Aggarwal and KL Rahul are in good form but that is about it.
The bowling lineup, though, is better than you might expect. Harpreet Brar, Ravi Bishnoi, and Arshdeep Singh will be difficult to face on spin-friendly wickets. Shami is the designated powerplay bowler and Ellis will take over in the powerplay.
Likely XI: Lokesh Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Deepak Hooda, Nathan Ellis, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohammed Shami, Harpreet Brar, Arshdeep Singh.
