The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has activated Plan B for IPL 2022. The BCCI may have postponed the domestic season but the board would like to organize the IPL in any case.
A lot is yet to happen for the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL. The two new teams of the new season of IPL have to choose their 3-3 players first, while after that the mega auction is to be held. Only after this the 15th season of IPL will be possible to organize. However, in the meantime, Corona has again worked to put the brakes on the world of sports. Despite this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants IPL 2022 to be organized, as a major part of the board’s revenue comes from this league.
BCCI may have postponed the domestic season including Ranji Trophy, but BCCI has many plans for IPL. Plan A was that if the situation is fine with Corona, then the tournament will be organized in those cities which have teams, but the current situation is not testifying to it. In such a situation, the board has also started implementing Plan B. Plan B is that BCCI can organize it in two or three stadiums of any one city. According to the report of Cricbuzz, BCCI can organize IPL in Mumbai.
There are three major stadiums in Mumbai, which are Wankhede Stadium, DY Patil Stadium and Gymkhana Stadium. IPL can be organized on these three grounds. Plan C will also be in the eyes of BCCI to organize the tournament outside India. However, BCCI would not like to activate this plan in the recent past. The board will try hard to organize this tournament in India itself. The cost of organizing abroad is high and all kinds of expenses have to be borne by the franchisees. In such a situation, work can be done on Plan B.
