Talking to ANI, the source said that if the situation of Kovid-19 improves in India, then the Indian Cricket Board will organize IPL 2022 in India itself. Not only this, this time IPL will be organized behind closed doors i.e. without spectators.
This time, the idea is to organize the IPL matches in Mumbai and all the matches will be played at Wankhede Stadium, Cricket Club of India (CCI) and DY Patil Stadium. If need be, then Pune can be turned.
The mega auction for IPL 2022 will be held on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru for which a total of 1214 players have registered their names. This includes 896 Indian and 318 overseas players. In this two-day auction, ten franchises are going to be seen bidding fiercely to prepare their respective teams. The players who have registered for the auction include 270 capped, 903 uncapped and 41 associate players.
The IPL 2022 season can be started from March 27, while the final match of this season can be held in Mumbai or Pune in the last week of May. BCCI Sachin Jay Shah while talking to ANI said that I am happy to inform that the 15th season of IPL will start in the last week of March and will run till the end of May.
Most of the team owners expressed their desire that the tournament be held in India. BCCI has always been keen to organize the 2022 edition in India where two new teams Ahmedabad and Lucknow will be seen this time. I can tell you that we will leave no stone unturned to ensure that IPL remains in India.
Let us tell you that in this season once again 10 teams will be seen colliding. After 10 years in IPL, once again 10 teams will fight for the title. Earlier in the year 2011 also 10 teams participated in this league. After this, in the year 2012 and 2013, nine teams took part in it. Then from the year 2014 to 2021, eight teams continued to participate in it.
