Team winner Prediction:
Key Points:
- Rajasthan Royals are a stronger batting lineup
- SRH does not really have a top-class spinner and its lower middle-order is a bit untested
- The presence of Buttler and Samson in the middle gives the Royals a massive edge
SRH vs RR Analysis:
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are going to play their first match of IPL 2022 against each other. Both the teams have struggled in the recent seasons of the Indian Premier League and will surely be hoping that the mega-auction works in their favor.
At first glance, it seems that SRH have more work in the park to try to get a decent playing XI. Most of the best IPL betting sites agree with this assessment as well as the odds are worth it with Rajasthan Royals being the favourite.
There are so many new combinations and matchups to explore that we must have so many betting opportunities.

Pitch and Weather Conditions:
The team that wins the toss could actually choose to bat first in Pune. There is not much dew expected and spin could play a bigger role as the match goes on. Overall, though, the toss is expected to be less important at this venue (at least for the first few matches).

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH):
SRH is probably the only IPL team whose all players are available for selection from the very first match. SRH’s team management faced a lot of criticism after taking some strange steps after the auction and Simon Katich also left the management as his auction strategy was not followed.
Still, we think they’ve put together a pretty good lineup.
Aiden Markram, Rahul Tripathi, Kane Williamson and Nicholas Pooran should form the top-4 for SRH. This is a very good batting line-up with strength and T20 expertise. Rahul Tripathi is one of the more underrated players but it seems he makes an invaluable member of the IPL playing year after year.
In the middle order are Abdul Samad, Washington Sundar and Romario Shepherd.
We are not sure if Samad and Sundar have really done enough to be considered first-class middle-order batsmen at the IPL level, but Romario Shepherd is one of the best guys in this IPL auction.
Shepherd adds the option of hitting a real six and a really good death bowler to the lineup.
SRH also have Umran Malik, Karthik Tyagi and Bhuvneshwar Kumar to give themselves a decent pace attack. Spin bowling options are slim and chances are Shreyas Gopal will play the first match.
Likely XI: Jos Buttler (wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (c), Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, James Neesham/Nathan Coulter-Nile, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal and Prasidh Krishna.

Rajasthan Royals (RR):
Rajasthan Royals have all their players available for selection for this match as well. The Royals have decided to go for a lot of promising youngsters, a strategy that has paid dividends for Delhi Capitals in the past.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal are his opening pair. These are two very talented batsmen who have done well in the IPL in the recent past. As bookmakers you need to ask will the teams work on them or will the players improve between seasons?
With Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson and possibly Shimron Hetmyer in the lineup, Rajasthan Royals certainly have a strong batting lineup. However, the conditions in Pune can be a bit conducive for spin and just test their power hitters a bit.
This brings us to their huge advantage in this competition against SRH. Both Yuzvendra Chahal and R Ashwin need to be in the playing XI to give the Royals the best spin bowling options.
The fast bowling lineup should include Nathan Coulter-Nile, Trent Boult and the famous Krishna. Overall, it is a very well balanced lineup that covers all the bases.
Likely XI: Aiden Markram, Abhishek Sharma, Kane Williamson (c), Rahul Tripathi, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Abdul Samad, Washington Sundar, Romario Shepherd, Umran Malik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan
