IPL 2022 Title Sponsor: The title sponsor of the next season of IPL i.e. 2022 will no longer be Vivo. Vivo has decided to withdraw from the title sponsorship of IPL and now BCCI has given its sponsorship to Tata Company.
Mobile company Vivo will no longer be the title sponsor of IPL. In fact, this company has decided to withdraw its hand from the title sponsorship of IPL. After this decision of Vivo, IPL has given its sponsorship to Tata. After this, now from the next season, the Indian Premier League will now be known as Tata IPL.
Chinese mobile company Vivo is now set to end its association with the IPL and has been replaced by Tata as the title sponsor of the IPL. The decision on the change in sponsorship was taken during the IPL Governing Council meeting on Tuesday.
Even before this, Vivo withdrew its hand in the form of IPL sponsorship in the year 2020 due to increasing anti-China sentiment in India. After this, Vivo again returned as the main sponsor in the year 2021. At the same time, the association of Vivo and IPL is ready to end completely just before IPL 2022.
VIVO and BCCI had signed an agreement of Rs 440 crore for the title sponsorship of IPL in 2018. The contract between the two was to expire after the IPL 2023 season, but the two sides are parting ways prematurely.
Indian company Tata is going to be associated with IPL for the first time and will be their title sponsor. The 15th season of IPL will now be known as Tata IPL. A BCCI official said that Vivo had requested to exit the IPL sponsorship deal and the governing council has approved it.
Now BCCI will get the same fee from Tata of title rights as Vivo. At the same time, BCCI is planning to organize the entire season of IPL 2022 in a bio-bubble environment in Maharashtra in view of the increasing number of Kovid-19 cases in the country.
