There is to be a mega auction for the 15th season of the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL. In such a situation, the franchisees have a chance to retain some of their players. The old eight franchises of IPL can retain 4 players, while the new franchise will be able to add only three players. Meanwhile, reports have come out that the Rajasthan Royals franchise can retain Sanju Samson with them for a hefty amount.

Apart from Samson, the franchise would like to keep two foreign players with them. Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler and Liam Livingstone will either be retained by Rajasthan Royals, while young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is being seen as another Indian player.
The current 8 franchises can retain a maximum of three Indians and a maximum of two foreign players. At the same time, the teams of Lucknow and Ahmedabad joining the IPL will have the option of picking up a maximum of three players from the auction pool.
