After IPL 2022, the Indian cricket team will tour Ireland in the last week of June. Ireland has confirmed this. Two T20 matches will be played between the two teams, which will start from June 26.
The first T20 match will be played on 26 June while the second T20 match will be played on 28 June in Malahide. After this the Indian team also has to tour England. From this perspective, the Indian cricket team will have a good chance to practice this and regain their momentum.
Earlier, India toured Ireland four years ago in 2018 under Virat Kohli’s leadership where they won the two-match T20I series 2-0. India won the first T20 match by 76 runs while the second T20 match was won by 143 runs. India had scored more than 200 in both the matches. Rohit Sharma played a brilliant innings of 97 runs in the first match. However, in the second match, Rohit could not even open the account.
Due to the hectic schedule, India will have a chance to test their young players on the Ireland tour as the Indian team also has to try its hand in the five-match T20 series against South Africa before this tour.
However, Ireland will play matches not only with the Indian team but also against New Zealand, South Africa and Afghanistan. Overall, the entire summer season will be nothing less than a gift for the people of Ireland. New Zealand will play three ODIs as well as three T20 matches on this tour. South Africa will play a series of two T20 matches while the Afghanistan team will also play 5 T20 matches on this tour.
