The third match of the five-match Test series between India and England is to be played in Leeds. Changes can be made in the playing XI of the Indian team for this match. Team India, taking a 1-0 lead in the series, can give their star spinner R Ashwin a chance in the third match. Ravindra Jadeja, who failed to make an impact in the bowling, can be included in the playing XI.
The Indian team has shown a strong game against hosts England so far in this series. In the first Test played in Nottingham, India needed 157 runs on the last day but the match was declared a draw due to rain. On the last day at Lord’s, India set a target of 272 runs and then bowled out England for 120 runs to register a big 151 run win.
Changes can happen in the third test
Till now R Ashwin has not got a chance to play in this series. Jadeja, who played as a main spinner, has not been able to do much in bowling. In the first Test, he did not take a single wicket after bowling 16 overs. At the same time, even after bowling 28 overs in the second Test, his wicket account remained empty. So far, Jadeja could not take a single wicket after spending 98 runs in 44 overs.
England’s Moeen Ali was given a chance in the Lord’s Test where he took three wickets. This spinner looked more impressive than Jadeja. In such a situation, in the third Test, Ashwin can be fed in place of Jadeja. He is a leading spinner and also managed to get a wicket in the World Test Championship final against New Zealand.
