The remaining matches of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League are to be held in the UAE from next month. There are reports of players withdrawing from the franchise team before the start of the tournament. Rajasthan Royals explosive batsman Jos Buttler has withdrawn from IPL due to personal reasons. The team has decided to include Glenn Phillips as a replacement in his place.
The Rajasthan team on Saturday informed about the inclusion of 24-year-old New Zealand batsman Phillips in the team. The team’s wicket-keeper batsman Butler is going to become a father for the second time. He has withdrawn from the matches of the second part of IPL 14 due to this personal reason. Now in his place, Phillips will be available with the team as a replacement for the entire season.
Rajasthan Royals gave this information in a tweet on Saturday. “Butler will not be a part of the remainder of this season, as he will soon be fathering another child,” Royals wrote. At the same time, the Royals have included Kiwi batsman Glenn Phillips in his place in the team.
The 14th season of IPL started in March this year. The tournament started on 9 March and it was decided to postpone it on 5 April. The BCCI took this decision due to the players being found corona infected in the team bubble. Now the remaining 31 matches are to be held in the UAE between 19 September and 15 October.
