Royals Sports Group (EM Sporting Holdings Ltd), the owner of IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals, on Friday announced it would buy a major stake in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) team Barbados Tridents. Two-time CPL champions Barbados Tridents will now be known as Barbados Royals, a partner franchise of Rajasthan Royals. Royals Sports Group wants to expand itself all over the world. Manoj Badale, President, Royals Sports Group and Principal Owner, Rajasthan Royals, said, “We are delighted to sign this deal with Manish Patel to acquire a major stake in the Barbados CPL franchise. We are deeply grateful to the Government of Barbados for their continued support and we look forward to making a positive impact on both the country’s cricket and tourism. We have ambitious plans for the Royals brand globally and this is an important strategic move.
