The Indian Test team has reached South Africa tour. The BCCI has given this information by issuing a message along with the picture on Twitter. A picture of coach Dravid, captain Kohli and opener Rahul arriving at the airport was shared on the board’s official Twitter handle. Kohli and the coach were seen reading something on the mobile while the opener was seen carrying the luggage.
The Indian team was supposed to reach South Africa a week ago but it was postponed after the threat of the Omichrome variant came to the fore. Team India was about to leave immediately after the end of the Test series against New Zealand, but due to the new variant of Corona, the BCCI decided to shorten the tour. Just before arriving on the tour, opener Rohit Sharma was injured and ruled out of the Test series. Opener Shubman Gill and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja are also not in the team due to injuries.
The Indian team has to play three test matches on the tour of South Africa. The first match is to be played at Centurion from 26 December. The second match is to be played in Johannesburg from January 3. The third and last match will be played in Cape Town from January 11.
