There have been many such occasions on the cricket field when the batsman or bowler, being angry with the decision of the umpire, does such an act which puts the gentleman’s game to shame. Now Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan, the world’s number one all-rounder in ODI cricket, did such an act during the Dhaka Premier League which hardly suits such a big legend. Actually, two videos are going viral on social media, in which it is seen that Shakib Al Hasan is kicking the wicket, as well as immediately after that he was also seen arguing with the umpire. In another video, he uprooted the wicket itself.
In fact, Shakib Mohammadan was bowling to Mushfiqur Rahim of the opposition team while playing for the Sporting Club in the Dhaka Premier League. A ball hit Rahim’s pad and Shakib appealed for LBW which was rejected by the umpire. He was so angry with the umpire’s decision that he first kicked the wicket and then started arguing with the umpire. After this other players of his team reached there and tried to pacify the matter.
After this, in the second video that has surfaced, it is seen that Shakib has crossed all limits. It is seen that during the conversation with the umpire, he got angry and he uprooted the stumps with his hands and slammed the wicket on the pitch. Cricket fans are trolling him fiercely for what Shakib Al Hasan did. Fans even demanded that Bangladesh Cricket Board and ICC be banned.
Dear fans and followers, I am extremely sorry for losing my temper and ruining the match for everyone and especially those who are watching from home. An experienced player like me should not have reacted that way but sometimes against all odds it happens unfortunately. I apologise to the teams, management, tournament officials and organizing committee for this human error. Hopefully, I won’t be repeating this again in the future. Thanks and love you all ❤️ SAH
