South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn announces his retirement from all forms of cricket

Another veteran cricketer of South Africa cricket has announced his retirement from international cricket. Due to continuous injury, Dale Steyn finally decided to say goodbye to cricket. After leaving Test cricket, this veteran bowler made a comeback in T20 but due to injury, he could not stay in the team for long.

Steyn, who earned a name in the world with his fast pace and swinging ball, played an international match for the last time against the Australian team. In the home T20 series against Australia, on 21 February 2020, he came out to play for the last time. He had to be ruled out of the tournament due to injury just before the ICC ODI World Cup played in 2019. It was only after this that he announced his retirement from Tests and ODIs. From 2010 to 2013, he started the year by staying at number one. Then in 2015 also he reached the first place.

On Tuesday, August 31, Stan took to Twitter to inform all his fans about his retirement. Sharing his four pictures, he wrote, Announcement. The first of these four pictures has the letter in which he has written Dil Ki Baat while announcing his retirement. Also there is a picture celebrating his wicket in Tests. There is a picture while batting in ODIs and the last photo is farewell from Test.

He made his international debut in the Port Elizabeth Test against England in December 2004. The amazing thing is that on this ground he also played the last Test match of his career against Sri Lanka in February 2019. In the year 2005, he played his first international ODI match against Asia XI. The ODI played against Sri Lanka in 2019 was the last ODI of his career.

Playing 93 Test matches, Steyn took a total of 439 wickets while in 125 ODIs he took 196 wickets in his name. Talking about T20, he has a total of 64 wickets in 47 matches. In Tests, Steyn made a total of 1251 runs, scoring two half-centuries, showing his hand in batting. He also has a half-century to his name in ODIs. He scored a total of 365 runs in this format. He could only score 21 runs in T20.
