Rohit Sharma, who was out of the Test series due to injury, will not be a part of the team in the ODIs as well. KL Rahul has been given the command of Team India for the ODI series. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been made the vice-captain for this series.
In the absence of Rohit in the Test series, Rahul was made the vice-captain of the team. Just before the South Africa tour, the selectors took the decision to remove Virat Kohli from the captaincy of the ODIs. On Friday evening, suddenly the chief selector surprised everyone by announcing the team. According to the information, the team selection was delayed due to Rohit Sharma’s injury. The selection committee wanted to be reassured on his injury.
