The flurry of ICC T20 World Cup 2021 has started, as teams have started reaching UAE and Oman for this mega event. The T20 World Cup is to be played in the UAE and Oman, hosted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), whose final match will be held on November 14 next month, but an even bigger match will be held just 20 days before the final. Yes, we are talking about the India vs Pakistan match to be held at Dubai ground on October 24, about which the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Rameez Raja has claimed that if Pakistan’s team defeats India in the T20 World Cup. If so, then the PCB will get a blank check from an investor.
PCB chairman Rameez Raja told that he was approached by an investor who had promised him that if Pakistan can register their first win over India in the upcoming T20 World Cup match, the board would get a blank check from that investor.
“PCB runs on 50 percent of ICC funding. 90 percent of ICC funding comes from India. I am afraid that if India stops funding the ICC, the PCB may collapse. Because PCB gives zero percent funding to ICC. I am committed to make Pakistan cricket strong. A strong investor told me that a blank check is ready for the PCB if Pakistan beat India in the upcoming T20 World Cup.”
Rameez Raja as saying
International cricket did not take place in Pakistan for many years, but the PCB had high hopes from the scheduled series against New Zealand and England. However, the board has dealt a blow with both the teams withdrawing from their respective tours. Security reasons were cited behind this.
