The ECB said that Roy acknowledged that his conduct was not in the best interest of cricket or that cricket had hurt the ECB and his own image. His ban is for the next two matches but he has been suspended for 12 months on grounds of good behavior.
The England Cricket Board is known for taking tough decisions. Just before the 2019 World Cup, wicket-keeper batsman Alex Hales was dropped from the World Cup squad following selection for not following discipline.
Now it has been decided to ban the team’s explosive batsman Jason Roy from the board for two matches. Not only this, apart from facing the match ban, this star player will also have to pay a fine of 2500 pounds.
In an important decision on Tuesday, the England Cricket Board banned team batsman Jason Roy for two international matches for hurting the reputation of the game.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has not disclosed the incident that led to the ban. It is believed that he did not follow the instructions given by the board and because of this the officers were angry with Jason. The Board does not in any way allow any player to play the game according to discipline and rules.
The ECB said that Roy had acknowledged that his conduct was not in the best interests of cricket or had hurt his reputation for cricket, the ECB and himself. His ban is for the next two matches, but he has been suspended for 12 months on grounds of good behaviour. He has also been fined 2500 pounds (about Rs 2.52 lakh).
Controversy with Jason Roy:
In the 2018 Indian Premier League season in India, Zayn had gained form by showing a blazing game. It was only after this strong game that he managed to make a comeback in the England national team.
There was a dispute with Jason when abusive words were found written on the handle of his bat. Although he clarified on this and said that he does this to motivate himself.
