Eriksen scored on his comeback on Tuesday night amid overwhelming support from the audience at the Parken Stadium where Danish player Kristian Eriksson collapsed from a heart attack nine months ago while playing a European Championship match.
There was a lot of enthusiasm among the audience when Ericsson returned to that ground after 290 days. In this spectacular match, Denmark won 3-0 over Serbia.
The most memorable and emotional moment during the match win came when Ericsson scored for the team in the 58th minute with a smashing right footed shot and he slipped on his knees to celebrate with the spectators.
This was Ericsson’s first match at the Parken Stadium in which he was also captaining the team since the incident in June last year. When he was replaced in the 80th minute, the audience applauded with a standing ovation.
Shortly after this he was selected for the man of the match. Joachim Mhle scored the first goal for the team in the 15th minute for Denmark. After this, Jesper Lindström scored in the 53rd minute in the second half time to give the team the lead. Five minutes later, Ericsson sealed Denmark’s victory by scoring a goal.
